I know it has been awhile. My internet has been down and they just got it back up and running. I was going crazy. I use it more than my television. Quick update. Diet has been going ood. I cheated one meal while my family was out of town. I was sick the rest of the night. I guess thats what I get for cheating. I will try and be more regular again.

Didn't get to post yesterday. We didn't get in until midnight last night and I was exhausted. We took the kids to my wife's cousins to fish. They had a blast. The didn't catch any trout but little man caught a catfish and they both caught several goldfish. Big man didn't want to quit. Little man just wanted to ride the golf cart around the pond. Later this morning we have to take big man to the heart doctor again. He still has a murmur. They were hoping he would outgrow it. Please say a prayer for him.

Nice Sunday. Got up this morning and only got to ride the bike for 15 minutes. On the way to church, had a few grapes. Lunch consisted of a bowl of green beans. Supper I splurged. Had 4 bites of rib, no sauce. Had some more green beans and some squash. Got another 30 minutes on the bike. I just got in from playing with the boys outside. I can tell my energy level is going up. Clothes are fitting so much better. All and all, things are going good.

I am tired today. I got up and rode the bike for 23 minutes this morning. I then skipped breakfast and decided to mow the yard. By the time I got done mowing, trimming, weeding, and spraying for weeds, it was hot and I was tired. Had a small salad and some grapes for lunch. My wife went to her moms to get more greenbeans. I think she is getting into this canning stuff. I had a small bowl of cereal without the milk for snack. Wife called and said that she wanted to eat Chinese for supper. My favorite. I was good though. I skipped the buffet and got some rice with chicken in it and only ate half. Came home and decided to ride the bike again. 20 minutes. Pirates of the Caribbean is on now. I like this movie. Now if I can get the boys to quit quoting this new commercial. "Shut your big head up."

What a day. Took big man to swim lessons. Then since little brother got to go to mamaws and papaws house, big man decided he had to go. Dropped him off and came home for a couple hours of piece and quiet. Met family at Fatz for supper. Diet has gone good today. Breakfast - 1/2 cup of grapes. Lunch - 2 hotdogs. Don't get excited. Ball Park has a dog with no fat and only 50 calories. No they aren't as good as a normal dog but for a man dieting for a week, they were heaven. No bread just a little mustard. Had some grapes for snack this afternoon and a plain baked potato for supper. Got 20 minutes in on the bike. Not a bad day.
Flush the toilet son. I seem to be saying this all the time. Big man just can't seem to remember to flush the toilet. I guess I really shouldn't be complaining. At least he is using the toilet. Unlike little man. He is close. He will go if you make him. We were getting in bed last night and my wife told him to go potty and he says, "Mom, I'm getting tire of this potty stuff".

Dieting was hard today. I got really hungry today. I didn't eat breakfast because I got up late. I had a salad and plain baked potato for lunch. This afternoon is when the hunger pains really kicked in. I had some plain Special K and that held me until supper. Supper wasn't that good. Broccoli, which I can't stand, some peas and a small thin pork chop cooked on the grill. I set another goal for myself today. To do more hunting this year. I use to love to hunt and fish and the past several years have produced very little hunting. Never had the energy. My number one hunting goal would be to shoot some grouse. I guess we will see.
Breaking beans. I haven't done that since I was kid. Last night I took the family to the in-laws to pick some beans. While the kids chased grasshoppers, mother-in-law, wife and I picked beans while papaw chased the kids. After picking a bucket full, we decided to go ahead and break them. We sat around and broke them talking to each other and watching the kids play. I had a blast. It took me back to summers with my grandmother and grandfather. Growing up, I had 3 sisters. Each summer, one at a time, each kid would get to go stay at nana's house for a week. Every night at nana's house was spent working in the garden. It seems like we had to break beans all the time. Last night just reminded me of those good times growing up. On a side note. Got home last night and was going to give the kids a bath since they have to go to the doctor this morning. The wife and the oldest son decided that he wanted a buzz cut. I broke out the clippers and now he looks like me. The youngest son wanted his done but he has a funny shaped head and I am not sure he would look right. Wife told him no. I will post a picture later today of the new cut.

I decided to haul the garbage off today. Funny thing is I took the garbage off yesterday and as soon as I got home, my wife started cleaning out the kitchen cabinets and the fridge. No big deal. I sorta like taking the garbage off. While driving to the convenience center, I thought of something I wanted to do when I lost all my weight. I have always wanted to spend the night on top of Mt Leconte. It is in the Smokey Mountains. The only way to get to it is by hiking. The shortest trail is 5.5 miles but it is also the steepest. The longest is 8 miles. There is a lodge and small cabins on top you can rent. They also serve supper and breakfast. This is something I have always thought would be fun to do. I haven't asked him yet but my friend Mark would do this with me. I am going to put this on my to do list after my weight loss. By the way. Apple for brunch and a piece of toast with some chicken and 2 pieces of pickle. According to the labels, I am under 300 calories for the day and 3 grams of fat. I feel great. The funny thing is I really haven't been hungry. I hope I can keep this up.
I love a good book. I like to read all kinds of books. One genre I never cared for was fantasy but I must say the series of books I am working on is fantastic. If you have never read Terry Goodkind, check him out. He has a series of books starting with Wizards First Rule. I have never been into wizards and dragons but these books are so much more. A friend of mine gave me the first one to read and for about a year it just sat there because I refused to try it. I am now about to finish the ninth book and can't put it down. Time to go ride the stationary bike. Another day of dieting. Wish me luck.

Being a teacher is great. I love my summers. I have sat here for the last 2 hours looking at other peoples blogs and watching my wife (also a teacher) and youngest son sleep. What a waste of time. I believe the youngest son is going to be like both of his parents, a snorer. The little guy is noisy. The oldest son is back in our bedroom sleeping. This is the only time during the day that there is piece and quiet. You gotta love kids.
The start of something grand. Okay, probably not. This is my blog. Not really sure why I am doing this. I enjoy reading other people's blogs so I thought I might try my hand at it. A little about me. I am a 39 year old father of 2 little boys. One is four and the other is almost 3. I have been married to my beautiful wife for 8 years now. One big happy family.... most of the time anyways. I started a diet 4 days ago and have been doing really good so far. You will probably be hearing a lot about it for the next little bit. Hope I don't bore you with it.
